Welcome to The Number! Here's how to play:

  1. Objective:
    • Use the provided numbers and arithmetic operations to reach or get as close as possible to the daily target number
  2. Starting Numbers:
    • Each day, you will be provided with 6 starting numbers (green), randomly selected from a pool of large and small numbers
    • The large numbers are 25, 50, 75, and 100. The small numbers range from 2 to 9

  3. Target Number:
    • A target number between 101 and 999 will be generated each day

  4. Game Play:
    • Drag the starting numbers into the calculation area or the main grid to perform calculations
    • Use the operators (+, -, *, /) to combine numbers and get closer to the target number
    • Use each number only once in a calculation
    • The calculated number (orange/yellow) can be used/dragged into subsequent rows

  5. Using the Calculation Area:
    • The calculation area allows you to test combinations before committing them to the main grid
    • Drag numbers into the calculation area, select an operator, and see the result
    • Click "Use" to send the result to the main grid for further calculations
  6. Scoring:
    • The more starting numbers you use, the higher your score
    • The faster you reach the target number or get close to it, the higher your score
    • Submit your score when you are ready by clicking the "Submit" button
